Optional: add up to 1/2 cup water, if needed.To cook the chickpeas, soak dried chickpeas before boiling on the stove. This process is typically a minimum of 3 hours, but you can also soak them overnight and boil them for a shorter time the following day. The longer you soak and cook them, the softer they will become and therefore will be easier to blend to a smooth consistency.
